Plumb Level
Heritage Preservation
If you lost family members many decades ago, or just a few years past, you will know memorials or markers are not immune from natural forces. Gravity will eventually take an unpredictable toll, but these effects can be safely reversed, with the original upright and level appearance restored.
Properly reset memorials respect our past, comfort us today, and help future generations recall those who built our communities. Discover how a modern use of early mechanical technology can simplify personal, family, or even larger community projects.
Purpose-built equipment is now a locally available option. Modular and easily portable, even a single individual can safely raise and level monuments that weigh hundreds or even thousands of pounds.
Family Matters
Relatives or designated persons have a duty of care for memorials of those interred in a conventional cemetery location. The markers placed within plot bounds are owned by the family, not the cemetery. Those memorials may need care by surviving family members or a caring community unless a perpetual care fund was set up in advance for that purpose.
Most early small cemeteries were reliant on volunteers or congregations for upkeep, as any future care funds were instead used for more urgent daily family needs.
